Feedback

Teachers, administrators, parents, and kids love our SNAP-ED programming!

“A parent had reported that she planted the sprouted carrot plants that started in class during one of our SNAP-Ed lessons and that she was able to harvest enough carrots to prepare dinner and had enough to freeze!”

Administrator

“A parent was so proud of her child for trying the new foods provided by our SNAP-Ed program that she hung the Taster’s Awards up around one of the mirrors in their home and used them to encourage her child to continue to try new foods. ”

Program Spotlight

Harvest for Healthy Kids

Harvest for Healthy Kids was developed in collaboration with Head Start teachers and is based on Farm to Early Care and Education (Farm to ECE) research. This program helps young children learn to love healthy, local foods. Each lesson focuses on a fruit or vegetable and objectives are met through a book reading, discussion and food tasting. Through fun activities like gardening, tasting fresh produce, and hands-on learning, kids get to explore where food comes from and why it's good for them.
