SIBSIGHT

SIBSIGHT was an observational cohort study of second-born siblings of children enrolled in the INSIGHT trial. We enrolled 117 second-born children from INSIGHT families. Anthropometrics measurements and surveys were collected on secondborns through age 3 years.

Project Goals:

  1. To examine spillover effects of the INSIGHT responsive parenting intervention, delivered to parents of firstborn children, on their secondborn child
  2. To characterize how differences in obesity-related parenting are associated with infant weight status in first and secondborn siblings
  3. To examine how sibling differences in appetite, temperament, and genetic susceptibility moderate associations between responsive parenting and weight status at age 1 year
