TweenSPACE
TweenSPACE (Sleep Patterns, Appetite Control, and Environment) is an observational study of sleep and eating behaviors in 8–12-year-old children living in rural communities throughout the United States. Participants wore sleep trackers and completed surveys several times a day on provided smartphones over a two-week period.

Project Goals:
- Using daily smartphone surveys, to examine the contextual factors (e.g. time of day, mood, type of location) associated with eating in the absence of hunger behavior
- To determine how the previous night’s sleep relates to eating behavior the next day
- To explore how family, child, and environmental characteristics are related to eating behavior and sleep in rural preadolescent children.
